Sailing club duty roster

A duty roster your club's volunteers will actually use

For Principals, Chief Instructors, centre managers and club officers at RYA training centres and clubs.

Whether you are the sailing secretary, the training officer or the bosun, the club duty rota lives in spreadsheets, on noticeboards and in long email threads, and someone always ends up on safety boat without a licence. ActivityRoster gives clubs the same checks a sailing school gets, with pricing that doesn't charge for every volunteer.

Training and racing duties on one roster

Set up club racing, junior training and open days as sessions, with the duties each needs: race officer, safety boat driver, instructors, assistants. Your role names, your duties.

Volunteers sign up from their phone

Members set when they're free in the app, see their duties and confirm them. If something comes up they say so in the app and the duty officer knows straight away; the gap can be offered as an open duty that anyone free can claim. Under-18 juniors who help get higher-privacy defaults.

Licences checked for safety duties

Safety boat duty needs a licence. ActivityRoster knows who holds one and when it expires, so the duty roster can't put an unqualified driver on the water without someone recording why.

  • Volunteers cost nothing extra: flat club pricing
  • Duties for racing, training and events
  • Availability and drop-outs from the app
  • Safety boat and first aid licences tracked

Questions

How much does it cost for a club with lots of volunteers?
Flat per club, not per person: £35 a month for up to 10 people or £65 a month with no limit on members (fair use applies). The first month is free.
What happens when a member can't do their duty?
They tap "Can't make it after all?" in the app and the duty officer is told at once. The duty can then be offered as an open shift for anyone free to claim.
Do members need to install an app?
The app is the easiest way, but everything works in a phone browser too, and the duty sheet still prints for the noticeboard.
