How to Fill Your Sailing Courses
Empty places are lost revenue you can't recover. A practical playbook for filling every course.

An empty place on a course is revenue you can never get back — the session runs, the costs are fixed, and the seat sails empty. Filling courses reliably is one of the highest-value skills in running a centre.
Advertise early and repeatedly
People book courses weeks or months ahead. Get dates out early, then remind your audience more than once — most bookings come after several touches, not the first.
Make booking effortless
Every extra click, form field or phone call loses bookings. The easier it is to see dates, prices and availability and book on the spot, the more courses you fill.
Use your existing customers
Your past learners are your warmest market. A well-timed email about the next course, or a nudge to the improver level, converts far better than reaching cold strangers.
Fill gaps with tasters and offers
Slots that aren't selling can be filled with taster sessions, last-minute offers or group deals — turning empty capacity into new customers and future bookings.
Track what works
Notice which channels and messages actually produce bookings, and do more of those. Marketing without measurement is guesswork; a little tracking sharpens every future campaign.
